Reuse - A very good story
GP Corporate encourages business units to reuse.

  • Reusable Plastic Containers (RPC)
  • Reusable Collectible Plastic Cups
  • Using the cellulose fiber, over and over again via recovery and recycling
  • Reuse is practiced throughout the manufacturing cycle, from raw materials such as pulping chemicals to the reuse of water in the pulping and papermaking processes
  • Tissue products use recycled fiber but are not reusable or recyclable due to hygienic and economic issues

Recycle - Significant player
GP is one of the largest collectors and users of recovered paper.

  • Used 3.3 million tons of recovered fiber to make its products in 2004
  • Significant recycler of old corrugated containers
  • GP’s recycling subsidiary, Harmon Associates, is one of the top five suppliers of recovered paper in the world
  • Ecosource recovered paper processing facilities collect and sort recovered paper for use in GP recycled mills

GP is the largest producer of recycled Away-From-Home products.

  • GP offers over 250 Away-From-Home products containing recycled content
  • GP produces an estimated 40 million cases of product that have a minimum of 95% total recycled content
    • When placed end to end the cases would reach from Atlanta to Los Angeles over seven times
