Project Sourcing: SiteStuff Delivers Turn-Key Solution for Trammell Crow Company SiteStuff and Trammell Crow Company partner to enhance a facility lighting system
Trammell Crow Company (“TCC”), one of the largest diversified commercial real estate companies in the United States, utilizes SiteStuff, Inc. (“SiteStuff”) for the procurement of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products and services for its portfolio, benefiting from the price advantages of aggregated buying. Reflecting on these existing benefits of their relationship, TCC naturally turned to SiteStuff for assistance with a large capital project. A Modern Direction SiteStuff has built an infrastructure to offer services to develop RFP’s for capital projects more efficiently. The SiteStuff Project Sourcing Team, working with national/super-regional contractors and best practice technology managers, delivers a platform to build, communicate, and manage RFPs- providing a powerful new resource for properties. When Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Greensboro wanted a lighting retrofit performed on its property, the facility team turned to SiteStuff and their Project Sourcing Team. “The process was so simple,” says Ed Callahan, Facility Manager for the account. “In less than two weeks, they had my facility surveyed and formulated a set of specifications for inclusion in the Request for Proposal (RFP). The specs were great and working with SiteStuff saved me a significant amount of time.” How it Works SiteStuff evaluates the property’s completed project sourcing questionnaire, as well as any preliminary engineering work, in order to develop a draft RFP. The draft RFP is submitted to the property for review and approval. Revisions are incorporated into a final RFP that is sent to approved contractors. Additionally, SiteStuff coordinates the contractor on-site visits. Contractors submit their proposals to SiteStuff for review of thoroughness and completeness. SiteStuff then prepares an Executive Summary report that facilitates the owner approval process. How Project Sourcing Helps Properties Provides industry experienced best practices solutions Packages the RFP bid documents Provides access to SiteStuff’s pre-screened contractor database Manages the RFP process Allows for group bidding on projects across multiple portfolios Provides a Bid Summary report inclusive of project options
The Results Reduced cycle time by 36% Improved quality of the project through the use of best-practice intelligence Provided greater choices by utlizing existing relationships with national and regional contractors
Conclusion “This was a great project from start to finish,” noted Callahan. “I am confident I have a great product at the best price. The process was effortless and the engineering support made my job even easier. I would recommend using Project Sourcing to all my peers,” said Callahan.
