SiteStuff Helps Customers Save Money, Protect Environment

Austin, TX (April 24, 2008)-SiteStuff, Inc., the nation’s leading commercial real estate procurement and e-commerce company and a major provider of Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRO) supplies for the commercial real estate industry, announced today that it has joined the ENERGY STAR Service Provider Partner program. SiteStuff is helping companies maximize savings in energy and operating costs while earning the ENERGY STAR label for buildings - the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) national symbol for superior energy performance. SiteStuff is the only registered Service Provider dedicated to commercial real estate industry registered with the Energy Star Service Provider program.

Using their integrated Spend Management Solution and online product catalog, SiteStuff was able to evaluate their clients’ purchasing habits. They were able to estimate that in the last five years of conscious purchasing of higher-efficiency products, their clients have contributed 283,694,325 kWh in energy savings, resulting in $28,369,433 savings in energy costs, and 394,902,500 lbs. in carbon dioxide emission reductions—equivalent to planting 53,853 trees or removing 34,161 cars from the road.  Those numbers are rapidly changing as more organizations implement green purchasing programs. These savings simply represent a fraction of the potential opportunity available to organizations that own or manage the “built” commercial real estate environment.

SiteStuff makes lower-cost product alternatives and upgrades available to its clients, and helps them implement proven energy management strategies such as continuous evaluation of greener product purchasing programs. Clients can also purchase, track and monitor higher-efficiency products offerings through the SiteStuff online Green Catalog.

SiteStuff also promotes environmental sustainability through Opportunity Assessments, a service offering that models potential saving opportunities through alternative product evaluations. Opportunity Assessments highlight the potential energy and waste savings their clients could see if they implemented low-cost product alternatives in their building or across their portfolio.  The SiteStuff Opportunity Assessment Program was recently named a Top Product pick by the editors of Buildings magazine.

“We are providing the necessary tools to help our clients who strive to earn the ENERGY STAR label or LEED certification for their buildings reach those goals while positively impacting their operating expenses and shareholder value,” said Charlie Pace, CEO of SiteStuff.  “SiteStuff is committed to helping our clients achieve superior standards of energy performance in their buildings,” he said.

“SiteStuff is using ENERGY STAR’s Guidelines for Energy Management and supporting tools as well as our own internal resources and procurement solutions to help our clients improve their energy and financial performance, achieve operational excellence in their portfolios, and distinguish themselves as environmental leaders,” said Paul Cialdella, Vice President, Operations.

“Investments in improving energy performance can achieve competitive rates of return while cutting energy costs by 30 percent,” added Jean Lupinacci, branch chief of the Environmental Protection Agency.

EPA estimates that by 2010, the savings from energy-efficient investments will reduce the annual greenhouse gas emissions in the United States by 2.4 million tons – the equivalent of the pollution produced by 1.7 million cars – and save taxpayers more than $750 million per year.
